When did you become involved with the LMSA? What encouraged you to be part of LMSA?

I joined our school's chapter my first year in fall 2014. I am one of the few Latino medical students in my school and only 1 of 3 in my class and I wanted to build a relationship with those individuals as well as be apart of a movement to possibly increase acceptance of students of Latino background at our school. I also wanted to be connected with students like me around the country. I did not anticipate joining the executive council, but after learning about this opportunity I knew it was perfect for me. I am excited to get to know the other members of LMSA in the NE region.

What do you expect to accomplish this year as Mentorship Chair?

As Mentorship Chair I plan on increasing awareness about LMSA to undergraduate students interested in medicine in the NE region. I also hope to establish a relationship between LMSA-NE and neighboring undergraduate schools, especially with Diverse Premedical clubs geared towards the Latino premedical student.

Career goals:

I am not exactly sure what it is I want to do yet. I have interests in medicine, pediatrics, as well as rheumatology.

Hobbies, something that you do in your spare time:

I enjoy watching romantic comedies, shopping, oil painting, sketching, and trying out new restaurants, but most of all I am a simple girl that loves family time.
