Summer Internship Position

PLEASE JOIN US IN WELCOMING VANESSA OGUERI AS OUR 2013 SUMMER INTERN

Program Description

The Latino Medical Student Association Northeast Chapter organizes a PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIP for interested undergraduate students, providing them with an opportunity to enhance their understanding of charitable non-profit organizations and to further the mission LMSA-NE.

During the summer, the selected research intern will have the opportunity to be mentored by students from many of the finest medical institutions in the Northeast United States. The intern will learn how to perform every role of the executive board, personally taught by each e-board member. Furthermore, the executive board will also provide support and guidance for the intern with regard to his or her education and career.

The faculty and members of LMSA-NE will guide the selected intern through all of the responsibilities of our organization. The intern will both work from home, as well as travel throughout the different chapters (commuting will be subsidized).  At the local chapter, the intern will be integrated into the daily work of the organization, participate in meetings and gain exposure to different facets of the organizations routine. Mentors will help students apply their current knowledge and skills and assist them in making the connection between their experiences and their academic studies.

2013 Program Schedule and Stipend
The 2013 internship will begin June 2013 and finish at the beginning of August. Students are expected to participate a minimum of 35 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Students will receive a $2,500 scholarship paid to the student via check for the full commitment.
